Complacency of any type is totally frowned at by the scriptures as it negates the promises and incredible possibilities of the Christian faith. As a matter of fact, not only do scriptures demand the highest standard of conduct and response system possible, it also makes it clear that not doing so amounts to an infraction and a dereliction of duty. Ecclesiastes 9:10 requires us to always give our very best to every single engagement or endeavour; Philippians 1:10 instructs that whatsoever does not meet the high standards of excellence, should not meet with our approval; a combination of many other scriptures (like Philippians 4:13; Psalm 71:21; Isaiah 48:17; etc.) helps us believe and aspire to be better that whatever we presently are. To crown it all, we are surrounded with so great a crowd of witnesses who have achieved similar acts of distinction in their various callings

As Christians, our high calling (Philippians 3:14) demands that, in the famous words and title of a book by Oswald Chambers (1874-1917), we give “My utmost for His Highest”. In a world that is increasingly more desperately in need of help, direction and assurances, no Christian can afford to be any thing less. Thus, as the above scripture commends, this gathering is an apostolic and prophetic summons to receive wisdom, grace and fresh impartation to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling …”
